The head of AvtoVAZ shared the prospective plans of the Togliatti auto giant with journalists on the sidelines of the International Forum “Russian Industrialist 2022”, which is taking place these days in St. Petersburg.
According to M. Sokolov, in the spring of 2023, the Vesta NG model will be launched into mass production in Togliatti; The novelty will appear on sale in late spring – early summer next year.
Also in 2023, AvtoVAZ will start producing a new generation Lada Largus station wagon – in addition to modifications with a traditional internal combustion engine, the car will also receive a fully electric version (e-Largus).
In 2024, according to Maxim Sokolov, the start of production of the new generation Lada Granta is planned, and in 2025 a car that is fundamentally new for AvtoVAZ will be put on the conveyor. We are talking about a crossover platform Lada Vesta.
What will be the technical “stuffing” of the car, the head of AvtoVAZ did not specify. At the moment, it is only known that in terms of dimensions it will be an intermediate class model between B + and C-SUV.
As for the new Niva, this project, according to M. Sokolov, has been put on hold for the time being due to the cessation of deliveries of a number of important auto components to Russia by Western manufacturers and suppliers.
