On November 7, the Porsche Taycan electric vehicle with serial number “100,000” rolled off the production line at the Zuffenhausen plant.
The anniversary car was a right-hand drive liftback in the most powerful version of the Turbo S (560 kW / 761 hp, 1050 Nm in Overboost mode; price in Germany from 189.7 thousand euros) in Neptune blue (2380 euros). This car will be handed over to a client from the UK, the press service reports.
Series production of the first ever electric Porsche began in September 2019, and last year the Taycan outsold the legendary 911 with 41,296 cars sold worldwide (versus 38,464 Porsche 911s). The model also holds the record among mass-produced electric vehicles for the time of passage of the “Northern Loop” – 7:33.35.
The Germans report that the main markets for the Porsche Taycan are the US, China and the UK, along with wealthy Ireland. In addition to the standard liftback, Porsche offers the Taycan Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo station wagons with similar equipment. In Europe, the basic Taycan is available for 88.4 thousand euros, and in the US they ask for 86.7 thousand euros for a liftback, excluding options.
