Concern Hyundai Motor has declassified the appearance of the updated Sonata sedan, sales of which will begin on June 30. Despite the radical changes in the front of the car, this is just restyling: the sidewalls of the body of the reform were practically not affected, not counting the decorative overlays on the front fenders.
The main innovation is the LED strip of daytime running lights, which Hyundai even has its own name – “seamless horizon”. True, the design concept implies the presence of other horizontal elements located at the same height that continue the motif (for example, the new Grandeur has retractable door handles), but the Sonata breaks the “line”. Beneath it are darkened headlight modules and a radiator grille, which no longer has room for the company logo.

The look turned out to be much more aggressive, but the Koreans claim that improved aerodynamics has become a side effect of stylistic amendments, which helps save fuel and increases the stability of the car at high speeds.
The LED jumper on the trunk lid is preserved, but for the sake of symmetry it was placed higher, above the branded oval. Now it seems to go into the sidewall punching, which, coupled with the new bumper, makes the rear of the sedan more lean. They also promise to review the range of rims, including new 19-inch wheels for the most powerful N Line modification (in the title photo).

The interior was also redesigned: in front of the driver is a panel of two 12.3-inch screens (a digital “tidy” and a touchscreen of the AVN multimedia system), and the intricate four-spoke “steering wheel” was abandoned in favor of a laconic three-spoke.
The transmission selector is now mounted on the steering column (due to this, it has become more convenient to use the compartment in the central tunnel), and the climate control (minus the two rotary knobs) is now fully touch-sensitive. Airflow deflectors in the entire front panel – in the spirit of the updated Palisade flagship. There was even room to lengthen the center armrest with a pad for the driver’s palm and make one of the cupholders larger.

Now prices for a Hyundai Sonata with a base “aspirated” 2.5 (191 hp, 245 Nm) in the US start at $25,250. For the N Line version with a turbo four of the same volume (290 hp, 420 Nm), they ask for a minimum of $ 34,625. We expect that restyled sedans will be slightly more expensive.
