The Soviet car VAZ-2108 “Sputnik” was born in 1984. For that time, the car looked quite modern and had good handling, thanks to which many Soviet motorists fell in love with it, and in the dashing 90s, even representatives of the criminal world.
In general, the car is definitely iconic, but in 2004 the Russian automaker AvtoVAZ not only stopped its mass production, but also completely abandoned the further development of this car model, as a result of which its second generation never appeared.
The Russian designer Alexander Saykovsky decided to fix this, who developed the design of the second generation of the VAZ-2108 Sputnik car and published its images on the Internet in the summer of 2022. This is how this car called Lada Avant looks in profile and it is worth noting that its silhouette is quite recognizable:

As for the appearance of the car in front and behind, there is nothing to do with the classic VAZ-2108 Sputnik. Is it good or bad? Far from it. Yes, the design is not recognizable and does not intersect in any way with the design of modern AvtoVAZ car models. However, it’s good:
