Instead of Bosch, the UAZ Patriot family now has a block from the Chinese company APG.

The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant resumed production of the flagship SUV family in a more technologically advanced version – with an anti-lock braking system and a ZMZ 409051 engine (150 hp, 235 Nm) of the Euro-5 environmental class. This is reported by the newspaper “Izvestia”.
Sales of UAZ passenger cars with Euro-2 engines began in November last year, and soon they were forced to abandon anti-lock braking systems in Ulyanovsk.
“Patriot”, “Pickup”, “Profi” are equipped with ABS. The anti-lock braking system will return to cars of the SGR family in the near future, ”the press service of the automobile plant told the publication.
Instead of the Bosch 8.1 block, UAZs are equipped with its modernized counterpart from the Chinese company APG. Now SUVs are available in the Base Ikar configuration (from 1.55 million rubles), including the Limited package (from 1.8 million rubles). The name of the character of ancient Greek mythology indicates a complete set without airbags: the Icarus company supplies UAZ with safety steering wheels of the 2010 model.
It is expected that frontal airbags, along with the stability control system, will return to flagship SUVs by the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024. As early as next year, it is planned to introduce diesel versions into the range with the Chinese 2.8-liter JAC HFC4D engine, which is installed in the small-tonnage Sollers Atlant (aka JAC Sunray). Work is also underway to resume the supply of automatic transmissions (of course, Chinese), but representatives of the plant have not yet announced the timing and possible suppliers.

In February, we recall, it became known about the plans of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation to return the anti-lock braking system to the list of mandatory equipment for new cars from November 1, 2023 and to limit the maximum possible indicators of harmful emissions to Euro-2 standards. Note that Russian automakers adhere to this standard even now, so that the upcoming tightening of the law will not affect the environmental friendliness of manufactured cars.
