Mikhail Podvyaznikov, Deputy General Director of JSC Concern VKO Almaz-Antey, Director of the North-West Regional Center of the Concern, spoke about the timing of the launch of mass production of the E-Neva electric crossover.
“If everything works out as agreed, then at the beginning of 2026 there will already be the first small series, and at the end of 2026, if everything is confirmed, we hope to reach full serial production. Approximately there will be about 55-65 thousand cars a year, ”TASS quotes Podvyaznikov.
According to him, now Almaz-Antey, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, are looking for a site for the production of an electric car: “We are resolving the issue with the Ministry of Industry and Trade about where this will be produced. There were no offers from AvtoVAZ. We want to produce our own cars, AvtoVAZ produces its own cars. We will cooperate and cooperate within the framework of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on those details or redistributions that are common to the entire automotive industry. Here we will have cooperation. From the point of view of an individual, then, of course, we will produce our car E-Neva under our own brand.

The development by the Russian defense enterprise of its own platform for the production of electric vehicles became known in September 2021, and the first running prototype of the E-Neva electric crossover was shown in July of the following year. With an overall length of 4.5 m, the E-Neva is slightly more compact than the Nissan Ariya or Volkswagen ID.4. The combined output of the two electric motors is 364 kW (495 hp) and 824 Nm. Li-Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt-oxide traction battery with a capacity of 88 kWh allows you to travel 463 km without recharging. The company is also developing versions with a hydrogen or gas generator to recharge the battery.
