Mercedes-Benz has updated its most luxurious SUV yet: the Maybach GLS will get a vertical display in the spirit of the S-Class and a set of visual upgrades.

The company introduced the first Mercedes-Maybach crossover at the end of 2019. Since then, the model has managed to acquire a new competitor in the face of the elongated Bentley Bentayga, but more importantly, a year later, the generation was replaced by the flagship S-Class, and soon new limousines from the court luxury division arrived in time.
In an era of rampant digitalization, the interior of the crossover is beginning to become obsolete: while later models already have vertical touchscreens, the GLS still offers only a dual horizontal panel of digital “tidy” displays and a multimedia system.
Apparently, the display with a vertical orientation will become the main new thing for the crossover. Together with it, the model will receive a new steering wheel and, possibly, an optional autopilot of the third level, which is already available for the S-Class in several European countries.
External changes will be more modest. Spy photos published by Auto Express point to a slightly enlarged grille and slightly retouched front bumper. The rear lights are sealed with camouflage film, so some reforms will also affect them.

Significant reforms in the technical part are not expected. Under the hood, a 4.0-liter “turbo-eight” will most likely remain, but its power from the current 558 liters. With. and 730 Nm can be slightly increased.
