At least some variety has finally returned to the Russian market of full-size frame pickups for personal needs. For a whole year, GWM Poer occupied this niche alone, but now it will compete with Changan, which is actively expanding its model range in Russia: the prices for the Hunter Plus pickup truck have been announced.
We have already talked about this car. In short, the Hunter Plus is a refined version of the Kaicene F70 commercial truck, which is sold in its homeland under the name Changan Lantop. Of the features – a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine JL486ZQ5 with direct injection (the same is put on the Uni-K), which in the Russian specification is derated from 239 to 224 hp. With. at a constant torque (390 Nm), and a spring rear suspension. The engine is paired with an 8-speed ZF automatic, the front axle is forcibly connected via a multi-plate clutch, there is also a Borg Warner transfer case and a reduction gear. Chassis – with a double wishbone suspension in front and a solid axle in the rear.
In terms of dimensions, the Hunter Plus is slightly shorter (5350 mm versus 5403), wider (1980 mm versus 1934) and lower (1875 mm versus 1886) of Poer. The wheelbase of the Changan is shorter (3180 mm vs. 3230), and the ground clearance is lower (225 mm vs. 232), so the approach and departure angles are smaller than those of the GWM (28° vs. 29° and 26° vs. 27°, respectively). But the cargo platform of the Hunter Plus is noticeably more spacious than that of the Poer (1600 x 1595 mm versus 1520 x 1520 mm), not to mention the advantage in dynamics and top speed (190 km/h). Load capacity in Changan is not yet indicated, but it should be slightly lower than that of the GWM with spring suspension (975 kg). Hunter Plus are equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, and under the bottom of the cargo compartment there is a full-size spare tire on a 17-inch steel wheel.
The price of the initial Comfort package is 3,309,900 rubles, which is 140,000 rubles cheaper than asking for a basic Poer with “mechanics”, and 250,000 rubles less than a GWM pickup truck with automatic transmission. At the same time, the basic equipment already has LED optics, climate control with the function of air purification and ionization, side steps, a built-in video recorder, electric power steering, cruise control, all-round cameras, rain and light sensors, a 12.3-inch touch screen multimedia voice control systems, six-speaker audio system, keyless entry with remote engine start, etc.
In the Luxe version (3,359,900 rubles), heated and electrically adjustable front seats (driver – in six directions, passenger – in four) and side airbags (four airbags in total) will be added to this list.
Hunter Plus has become the 13th Changan model on our market: now only Chery can compete with it in terms of supply, and even then only with the help of various sub-brands. The pickup truck has a five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty.
