New GAC GS8 undergoes certification in Russia

GAC Motor is currently engaged in the certification of the new, second generation GS8 crossover in Russia.

According to the portal “Chinese cars”, the car is now undergoing a series of tests required to obtain the “Vehicle Type Approval” (OTTS).

Earlier, the same site reported that the new GS8 will enter the Russian market during 2023.
According to unofficial data, the Russian debut of the flagship GAC crossover of the new generation may take place either in the spring or early summer of this year.
Today, such GAC models as the first generation GS8, the GS5 compact crossover, and the GN8 minivan are available in Russia.
Some dealers are ready to bring the new generation GS8 to Russia on order; price – from 3.2 to 4.2 million rubles.
Basically, a gasoline version is offered with a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 252 hp. and “automatic”, but there are offers for the sale of hybrid crossovers (190 hp) at a price of 4.29 million rubles.
