Chery Auto continues to produce more and more new sub-brands in our market. Not so long ago, Avtotor began assembling Kaiyi E5 sedans, and before the end of the year, Jaecoo crossovers will be delivered to Russia. Now the start of sales of the first Jetour model has been announced: this is already the fifth Chery Auto brand in Russia, although it formally acts as an independent distributor of Jetour Motor Rus.
Two crossovers are listed on the Russian site – Dashing (a design analogue of the Tiggo 7 Pro; its prices have not yet been announced) and X90Plus. The “older” model is a product of a consistent modernization of the Chery Tiggo 8 crossover, but in terms of dimensions (4840 x 1925 x 1745 mm; wheelbase – 2850 mm) it is already a slightly shortened analogue of the Exeed VX.
Regardless, the X90Plus only comes in a five-seat variant, although there are three-row versions in China (as well as second-row captain’s chairs, but we don’t seem to have those either). At the same time, the declared trunk volume is only 486 liters or 1052 liters with the rear sofa folded down.
The rear suspension is multi-link, but all-wheel drive is not provided. But the gasoline turbo engines are “Exeed”, and even more powerful than the Exeed TXL. For example, the base 1.6-liter unit produces 190 hp. With. and 275 Nm, and the 2.0-liter already develops 244 forces and 375 Newtons. Top speed is limited to 190 km/h.
The interior is made according to the Chery corporate standard: in front of the driver there is a panel of two 12.3-inch displays, under the right hand there is a non-fixed transmission selector and a climate control touch unit with a 9.7-inch screen.
The basic package includes 20-inch wheels, a panoramic electric roof, natural leather upholstery, keyless entry systems and all-round cameras, and a complete “winter package” – heated all seats, steering wheel, windshield, washer nozzles and mirrors. The set of electronic assistants includes assistance systems when starting uphill and downhill.
The price list opens with a 190-horsepower Comfort package for 3,249,000 rubles, excluding options. The most equipped Luxury version is available with any of the engines (3,369,900 and 3,689,900 rubles, respectively), and the 2.0-liter X90Plus is also available in a slightly simplified Elite configuration (3,569,900 rubles). The press service specifies that the Elite and Luxury versions will add a start-stop function, a Sony audio system with eight speakers, a driver’s seat with electrically adjustable lumbar support and memory function, an offline map package and other options, but the full price list is not available. The time of this writing is not yet available.
The X90Plus will be available in five exterior colors: white, black, grey, blue and purple; 50 purple crossovers will be available only at the start of sales. Deliveries of cars to dealers – by the time they enter the market, the network consists of 64 dealers in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Volgograd, Irkutsk, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Samara, Cherepovets, Yaroslavl and other cities – will begin this week.
