The premiere of the AMG versions of the younger Mercedes-Benz electric liftback took place back in February, but the Germans decided to hold the version with the “53” index until the summer. This despite the fact that technically both cars are identical: two traction electric motors, a battery with a capacity of 90.6 kWh and even a curb weight of 2525 kg they have one for two.
The “older” modification (except for the nameplate, of course) differs only in software settings, rotor winding, inverters and cooling system.
The total output of the two electric motors is 460 kW (626 hp) and 950 Nm (against 350 kW and 858 Nm for the EQS 43), acceleration to “hundreds” takes 3.5 s at a maximum speed of 220 km / h.
The EQS 53 starts at 109,777 euros, which is 5950 euros more than asking for the base EQS 43. In the case of both models, the list of additional options is very significant. Among other things, you will have to pay extra for Nappa leather trim (2.7 thousand euros), the MBUX Hyperscreen glass panel (8.5 thousand euros), carbon-ceramic brakes (5 thousand euros) and the Burmester audio system (868 euros).

To make the car look like in the photo, this set will have to add 21-inch alloy wheels (2 thousand euros) and a matte gray body color (3.3 thousand euros), as well as the AMG Night exterior package (666 euros).

For the “53rd” is also available to increase the power of the AMG Dynamic Plus Package (4.7 thousand euros). With it, peak output will briefly increase to 505 kW (687 hp) and 1000 Nm, and acceleration to “hundreds” in Race Start mode will be reduced to 3.3 s. The Germans moved the electronic “collar” to the mark of 240 km / h.
