Despite the fact that the EQS crossover was introduced earlier, it was the younger brother who received the first AMG version. Modifications EQE 43 and 53 were declassified immediately as part of the premiere, and the differences between them come down to software settings, rotor winding, inverters and a cooling system, as well as the presence of electromechanical anti-roll bars in a more powerful version.
The basic equipment of the EQE 53 also includes the AMG Ride Control adaptive air suspension, steering the rear axle at an angle of up to 9 ° and 21-inch wheels (the “43rd” has only R20), but you still have to pay extra for the MBUX Hyperscreen panel with three screens 8568 euros. The electronic limiter has been pushed back to 240 km / h, but for the AMG Dynamic Plus option, which will add the Race Start function, the Germans are asking for 4,760 euros. The latter allows you to briefly increase the peak output of electric motors from 460 kW (626 hp) and 950 Nm to 505 kW (687 hp) and 1000 Nm, due to which the acceleration time to “hundreds” will be reduced from 3.7 to 3, 5 s is already four tenths faster than the GLE 63 S 4Matic + (612 hp, 850 Nm).
The options list also lists two-tone 21-inch wheels (€1,130) and larger 22-inch wheels (€2,439; pictured), as well as a Burmester surround sound system (€773), AMG Track Pace racing telematics (€297), Nappa genuine leather trim (2701 euros) and, of course, carbon-ceramic braking system with 440 mm discs on the front axle (4998 euros).
The traction battery with a usable capacity of 90.6 kWh for AMG electric crossovers is one for two, so the range for the heavier (2690 kg versus 2600 for the EQS 43 SUV) and powerful EQS 53 is worse: 407-455 km in the WLTP cycle (for ” 43rd” about 20 km more).
European dealers will have cars in the autumn. Prices have already been announced – and they do not converge. The press service claims that the EQE 53 4Matic + SUV will be available for 129,662 euros without options, but in the German brand configurator, the cost starts at 139,438 euros. Thus, the more powerful version is 14.5 thousand euros more expensive than the EQS 43 SUV (from 124.9 thousand euros; although the basic equipment of the 53rd is richer), but immediately 25 thousand cheaper than the GLE 63 S 4Matic + (from 164.4 thousand euros).
