The most extreme modification of the Niva for public roads was updated in mid-2021, but a few months later the plant in Togliatti was put into idle mode due to a shortage of components. It was possible to return the Niva Legend to the assembly line in mid-July last year, but the first Brontos began to be assembled only at the end of January.
Among the features of the special version, we recall, a suspension with increased travel and a ground clearance of 240 mm (instead of 205 mm for the usual Niva), reinforced front springs and a rear axle beam, front and rear helical limited-slip differentials (in addition to the standard center axle), ” short ”main pair (4.1 instead of 3.91) and extended wheel arches, in which 15-inch wheels are located on tires with off-road markings MT.
Niva Bronto is equipped with an 8-valve 1.7 engine (83 hp, 129 Nm) of Euro-2 environmental class in conjunction with a 5-speed “mechanics”. An anti-lock braking system and a side airbag (it was necessary for the full functioning of the ERA-GLONASS module) are not provided.
As before, Bronto will be available in two trim levels. The basic Luxe (from 1,175,900 rubles) can be distinguished by metal bumpers, while the Prestige configuration (from 1,225,900 rubles) has plastic bumpers with additional foglights. The top version also has plastic lining on the wheel arches, a different grille and standard sill protection. Regardless of the configuration, you can buy a crossbar with spotlights on the roof (+35 thousand rubles), but camouflage coloring has disappeared from the list of options – apparently due to a shortage of paints that AvtoVAZ faced at the beginning of this year.
