Presented in 2021 at the Shanghai Motor Show, the Geely Xingyue L crossover on the CMA platform from Tugella will reach Russian dealers in April 2023, the Avtostat agency found out from brand representatives.
Initially, it was assumed that the model with the local name Geely Monjaro would debut in the Russian Federation at the end of 2022 (OTTS was issued a year ago), but the timing of the debut was affected by a violation of supply chains, because, unlike Tugella for the Russian market, Monjaro will be produced in Belarusian factory “BelGee”.
The mid-size crossover (dimensions – 4770 x 1895 x 1689 mm; wheelbase – 2845 mm) is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine (238 hp, 350 Nm), which works in conjunction with an 8-speed Aisin automatic and all-wheel drive with Borg Warner rear axle coupling.
In the top configuration, Monjaro will receive 20-inch wheels, three 12.3-inch displays (digital instrument cluster, central touchscreen of the multimedia system and a separate screen for the front passenger), adaptive cruise control, an 8-speaker audio system and a wide range of electronic assistants . At the same time, the salon will be exclusively five-seater, although three-row modifications are also sold in China.
Prices and configurations of new items have not yet been announced, but you can roughly calculate them based on the cost of the car in China. There Geely Xingyue L in the top configuration costs 185.2 thousand yuan (2.02 million rubles), while the cross-coupe Xingyue (aka Tugella) in the top version costs 195.8 thousand yuan (2.13 million rubles). Taking into account the Belarusian assembly, therefore, the Russian price of Monjaro may be even lower than that of the updated Tugella (from 4 million rubles).
Following Monjaro, the Geely Emgrand7 New sedan (also assembled in Belarus) will debut on our market, which will compete in the budget segment with the updated Vesta and four-doors from China.
