The first appearance of the GS5 in our country dates back to the year before last. In the segment of mid-size crossovers (in terms of dimensions, the car is comparable to the Mitsubishi Outlander and Skoda Kodiaq: 4695 x 1885 x 1726 mm), the Chinese did not gain much popularity, and by November 2021, Russian dealers ran out of stocks of cars, and they decided not to supply.
However, now the model will return to the Russian market. As it became known to the Chinese Automobiles portal, along with the flagship GS8, the GS5 also got into the last export batch – and unchanged.
The version for the home market has already undergone modernization (and even changed its name – now it is GAC Trumpchi GS4 Plus), but in Russia the model will continue to be offered exclusively with a 1.5-liter turbo engine (137 hp, 216 Nm), 6 -speed “automatic” Aisin and front-wheel drive.
According to the publication in the representative office of the brand, they will no longer carry cars in the basic Comfort version with “mechanics” and the Elite following it. The crossover will be available only in Luxe (from 2,409,000 rubles) and Premium (from 2,559,000 rubles) trim levels, with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 18-inch wheels, matrix LED headlights, dual-zone climate control and induction smartphone charging .
The top version will add to this list adaptive optics, a panoramic sunroof, a rear-view mirror with automatic adjustment and auto-dimming, a blind spot monitoring system, air curtains, etc.
“The timing will depend on the capabilities of the logistics company, but no later than next week, the GS5 will definitely begin to disperse [по дилерам]”, the Russian representative office of the GAC told the publication.
