Mass production of Moskvich 3 crossovers has started at the Moscow Automobile Plant Moskvich (formerly Avtoframos).

The launch ceremony was attended by Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, and Dmitry Pronin, Director General of MAZ Moskvich.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade called “the production of electric cars on its own platform with a gradual increase in the level of component localization” the priority task of the enterprise for the near future, the RIA Novosti agency reports.
Earlier, as Dvizhok already reported, Dmitry Pronin said that by the end of this year, the Moskvich plant intends to produce 600 cars, the enterprise’s production plan for 2023 is about 50 thousand cars, including electric vehicles. The plant, according to D. Pronin, “strives to a 100% level of production localization.”
Judging by the “Vehicle Type Approval” received by the plant for the new Moskvich 3, the crossover is an analogue of the Chinese SUV JAC JS4. The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine developing 109 hp. and 150 Nm, or a 1.5-liter turbo engine (150 hp, 210 Nm).
The Moskvich 3e electric crossover is technically identical to the JAC iEVs4 model. It is driven by a 50 kW SY Power TZ200XSIEM1 electric motor mounted on the front axle. The traction battery with a capacity of 55 kWh, according to the passport data, provides the crossover with a range of 410 km.

Update!

According to the press service of KAMAZ PJSC, the technological partner of MAZ Moskvich, in 2024 at the Moscow plant it is planned to assemble at least 100,000 vehicles, including 20,000 with an electric motor. Half of the cars will be produced using SKD technology, the other 50% will be produced using SKD technology.
