Chevrolet Trailblazer with update looks like Baojun

The compact SUV Chevrolet Trailblazer entered the Chinese market hand in hand with the Buick Encore, but none of the cars liked the local public.
However, back in 2019, the Americans insured themselves and launched sales of Korean-assembled cars in the United States, where Trailblazer has found more than 150,000 buyers over the past two years. Three and a half years later, the designers decided on a planned update.
Perhaps if the Trailblazer had looked like this from the very beginning, there would have been no problems with sales in China. In the stripes of LED headlights, Chevrolet Groove and Captiva are guessed, that is, Baojun 510 and Baojun 530, respectively (Chevrolet is actively developing a joint venture with the Chinese auto giant BAIC, Trailblazer was also produced at one of the concern’s factories).
One can recognize such a decision as a corporate style, because the “front end” of the Chevrolet Trax and Seeker models is made in a similar vein. The radiator grille after restyling has become wider, the shape of the bumpers and the “stuffing” of the rear lights have been revised. And expensive RS trims are now equipped with 19-inch wheels instead of R18 wheels.

From the Trax mentioned above, the larger model got a front panel with an 11-inch touch screen multimedia system and an eight-inch “tidy”. The reversing camera is now higher resolution, and the base LS will have an engine start button and cruise control.

The line of powertrains has not changed: in the USA, the Trailblazer is available with “turbo engines” of 1.2 (139 hp, 219 Nm) and 1.3 (157 hp, 236 Nm) liters. By default, both engines work in conjunction with a CVT and front-wheel drive, the 157-horsepower engine is also available with a 9-speed automatic and all-wheel drive system.

Prices have already been announced. The updated appearance and expanded basic equipment have increased the price of the car by a thousand dollars: the basic version can be ordered for 23.1 thousand dollars. The updated Chevrolet Trailblazer will appear at American dealers in the fall.
