The Cadillac XT4 crossover was supposed to open up new market segments for the brand, where the Germans were firmly established at that time: Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA. However, the brand’s heavyweight image did a disservice to the model, with just over 10,000 XT4s sold in the US in 2022.
For a young audience, the “four” turned out to be too conservative, and the local public, older and richer, was not used to compromises, so the gigantic Escalade becomes the bestseller of the brand every year. Now GM is busy with electrification with might and main and updated the XT4 obviously according to the residual principle, but there are still some interesting innovations.
The exterior looks more aggressive with T-shaped LED headlights, a darkened grille and new bumpers. The designers did not change the shape of the rear lights, but the pattern of the side lights of the updated XT4 is different. Also promised new wheels with a diameter of 18 or 20 inches.
The interior of the pre-reform XT4 is deeply outdated: the uncontested combination of an 8-inch multimedia system display and analog instruments confuses even millennials, so now the driver has a single digital panel from the Lyriq electric crossover with a diagonal of as much as 33 inches with a resolution of 9K, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as built-in Google services. 5G network will be available in the US and Canada.
The lower block of climate control buttons and the central tunnel with a non-fixed “automatic” joystick remained unchanged, and among the decor options for the average configuration of Premium Luxury (the other two, as before, are the basic Luxury and the rich Sport with a wide range of electronic assistants) became aluminum finish available.

The power plant is the same. The crossover is driven by a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine (235 hp, 350 Nm) paired with a 9-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel drive.
The model is produced at the Fairfax Assembly & Stamping plant in Kansas and at the SAIC-GM joint venture in Shanghai. The updated XT4 will appear at American dealers in the summer, closer to the start of sales, Cadillac will announce official prices. Now pre-styling crossovers are available for 36.3 thousand dollars without options, for all-wheel drive you need to pay 2.5 thousand dollars. And in mid-2023, the debut of the Cadillac GT4, a related cross-hatchback on the E2XX platform, is scheduled.
