Avtotor will produce crossovers BAIC X3

The Kaliningrad Avtotor plant is preparing to launch full-scale production of the BAIC X3 and X35 crossovers (pictured), the Russian Automobile telegram channel reports. According to the publication, the production of these models of the Chinese concern BAIC in Kaliningrad has already begun, but so far it is in test mode.
OTTS for crossovers has not yet been received. However, X3 and X35 are the same model, but in execution for different markets. For example, in Moldova the SUV is sold as X3, and in Mexico as X35.
Compared to the Moskvich 3, the BAIC X3 is slightly shorter (4325 mm), lower (1640 mm) and wider (1830 mm). One of two 1.5-liter engines can be installed under the hood – atmospheric (116 hp, 148 Nm) or turbocharged (150 hp, 210 Nm).
Four-wheel drive is not provided, a semi-dependent beam is installed at the rear (McPherson front). Ground clearance is 180 mm, trunk volume – 390 liters.
The atmospheric motor is certified according to the Euro-5 standard and is aggregated with a five-speed manual gearbox or with a four-band “automatic”. The turbocharged Euro-6 engine can be paired with a six-speed “mechanics” or with a Punch variator.

In Moldova, the most expensive version of Luxury CVT (with a turbo engine and CVT) is estimated at 15.5 thousand euros (1.16 million rubles). In this configuration, the X3 is equipped with 17-inch wheels and a panoramic roof, and the seats (driver with a six-way adjustment, front passenger with a four-way adjustment) are trimmed with a combination of fabric and leather. On the front panel is an 8-inch touch screen multimedia system.

“Based on past experience, these machines can be expected to enter the market in 4-5 months,” the publication says. “But in this case, everything will probably go faster: Avtotor really needs money.”
The plans of the Avtotor management to launch the production of Chinese cars became known at the end of November. It is expected that in addition to BAIC, the plant in Kaliningrad will produce models of two more brands from China.
