It was originally planned that there would be only three related electric concepts: Grandsphere (executive sedan), Sportsphere (coupe) and Urbansphere (minivan). However, all these models are designed exclusively for the metropolis: ultra-low ground clearance, long overhangs and low-profile tires.
The shortage was also noticed in Audi – and it was announced that at the beginning of 2023 another, fourth sphere-concept will see the light. The name Activesphere indicates that the electric car is designed for outings into nature.
So far, only a single teaser has been shown. It shows the smooth silhouette of a coupe-crossover, which, however, has an impressive ground clearance due to large discs on off-road tires (the wheels protrude beyond the arches) and a long-travel suspension.
Alas, there are no technical details yet. Of course, the Activesphere will be built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) electric platform with an operating voltage of 800 volts (for the sake of it, in general, all the concepts were started), but about the number of electric motors (by the way, Audi has not yet had four-engine concepts ) and other features (such as a sliding body structure, a flower pot in the cabin or a transparent OLED display for rear passengers), the Germans do not report. It is only promised that the Activesphere will be a universal assistant for outdoor enthusiasts – on and off the road.
